My file server at home (called animal) was getting rather full, so it was time to give it a bit of an upgrade with regards to storage. Animal now has 2.5TB of hard disks (four 500GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10s and two 250GB Maxtor Diamondmax 10s). The two 250GB disks are mirrored and they will have all my important data on them. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get any version of Linux that I tried to work - I tried Debian 4.0, Ubuntu 6.10 and Fedora Core 6. In the end I installed FreeBSD 6.2 on it. Everything seems to be running smoothly!
